O My Soul, Just Love Your God...

What do worship and sacrifice mean to you? You worship God not because someone else makes you or because it’s the right thing to e seen doing. You do it because God has given you abundant life. He totally embraces you as a flawed, hopeless, rejected mistake-maker. And he offers his presence, beauty and purity to fix places in you that are empty, dark, broken, damaged, and desperate. This is mercy. In your shock and outrageous gratitude, you want to do anything God says. By offering a sacrifice to God, you are showing that you have an attitude and a willingness to do whatever it takes to obey him. Being a walking sacrifice, means daily shedding your desires and going after God’s desires. Spend time with him so you can understand what he’s like and what he wants for your life. God wants you to look and think like him- and not like the world-because that’s the best possible way to live. He’ll reshape everything inside you so that you become more like him, but you have to let him in and give him the control.
Romans 12:1-2

It's plain genetics...

God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-control - 2 Timothy 1:7

Genetics are a big part of what makes you who you are. Whether you like it or not, you have inherited a lot of traits from your parents. Maybe those are good traits-such as musical abilities, great hair, athleticism, or a nice smile. And maybe you’ve inherited a few things you’re not crazy about either, such as acne, big feet or a short temper. It's so important that we know that as children of God, we inherit some pretty amazing traits of his. Some of them we have to work toward (like patience and self-control) and some may come a little easier (like kindness). So when we are faced with hard times and are tempted to be afraid, to doubt, and to act selfishly, we can know that those reactions are not from God. We can instead claim the wonderful gifts that God gives to us; the ability to love, kindness, peacefulness, joy, strength, courage, empathy, and self-control. What others can you think of?

Daughter: Mom, I don’t want to go to school today.
      Mother: Why, my darling?
Daughter: One of the chickens in the school farm died last week and we had chicken soup for lunch the next day.
Then three days ago one of the pigs died and we had roast pork the next day.
Mother: But why don’t you want to go today?
Daughter: Because our English teacher died yesterday.

A man's wish: When I die, I want to die like my grandpa who died peacefully in his sleep not screaming like all the passengers in the car he was driving.

Leo was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an important meeting and could not find a parking space. Looking up toward heaven, he said, "Lord, take pity on me. If you find me a parking space I will go to church every Sunday for the rest of my life and give up smoking.'
Miraculously, a parking space appeared. Leo looked up again and said, "Never mind. I found one."
